FUCKING INVINCIBLE / LIFESPITE split EP
At its best, hardcore can be really strange and aggressive. It has the flexibility to take the textures of heavy metal and work in all the dynamics that punk has to offer. This is what makes bands like Fucking Invincible and Lifespite special. Hailing from Rhode Island, the former is comprised of members from other heavyweights in the genre (Dropdead, Daughters, Soul Control, Sweet Jesus and others), while Lifespite are from the Netherlands and Belgium. Today, they're dropping their new split 7", out October 28 on Atomic Action! Records.
Fucking Invincible's side opens a can of whoop-ass right away, "Buy or Die" throwing you head-first into a barrage of heaviness that never lets up. The speed continues on "More Death," slowing to a huge breakdown on "Blessing-Curse" before closing out with two more burners.
Lifespite, on the other hand, start out slow. "Blown to Shreds" lies in wait before coming in with a vicious one-two punch. They're loud as hell and keep up just fine; "Pray for Nothing" flaunts some out-of-control riffing, and "One by One" is an absolute truck of a song. It's two great bands on one great EP. What more do you need?
